Estonia’s best restaurants of 2010 were announced on 19 May in Tallinn, with Pädaste Manor’s Alexander Restaurant winning the ‘Fine Dining’ category and also awarded the title of ‘Best Restaurant in Estonia’.

Estonian and foreign food critics, top culinary specialists and restaurateurs formed the committee to judge a selection of restaurants and determine this years' ranking. 2010 marked the third time that this event has taken place however this year for the first time finalists were judged by a team of 7 renowned international food critics. Judges worked independently on their evaluations, with practically identical results – placing Pädaste Manor’s Alexander Restaurant at the top of the list.

Alexander’s Head Chef Peeter Pihel agreed that one of the keys for success is without doubt the thorough research of the Nordic Islands Cuisine and the dedication to very familiar, yet thoroughly original flavors which the islands have to offer. Pädaste’s owner Martin Breuer is particularly ambitious to raise the level of the indigenous gastronomic dining experience and is well in tune with the importance of further improving his restaurant by sharing knowledge and encouraging close co-operation with producers on neighbouring islands.
